My Bitcoin story

• 2012 I started with bitcoin.
• 2017 I started pursuing it seriously, using bitcoin for purchases and then as an investment.
• 2019 I began teaching others, one-on-one and in small groups.
• Today My focus is almost entirely Bitcoin, including self-custody, inheritance and running your own node on StartOS.

When I started, I was into all kinds of cryptocurrencies, buying, selling and trying to time the market. Over time my focus moved almost entirely to Bitcoin, and my work now is helping people with Bitcoin and the technologies built around it.

My specialty is one-on-one and small-group conversations explaining exactly what you need to know so you can be comfortable with Bitcoin. Like other professionals I charge for my time, but my rates are reasonable, and there's no charge for emailed questions or a first conversation.

Education & experience

I hold a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech and an executive MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. I spent many years in the computer industry as a programmer, trainer, technical sales consultant, project manager, district manager and cloud services manager.

I'm also a certified (PSIA) ski instructor, and I've taught SAT prep and a variety of computer systems courses. Teaching is the thread through all of it: I like making complicated things make sense.
